Paulo Shishido's workspace

Paulo Shishido came to love photography in the first few months of my son’s birth. This led to the creation of 1005 Photography (pronounced Ten-Oh-Five) — named after his son's birthday of October 5th.

The main influences for his work come from his son, movies, and hip hop.

I would have to say is my 5DMIII and iPhone.

What is the most useful item in your workspace?

I would have to say is my 5DMIII and iPhone.

How do you spark creativity?

It can be a song, a particular movie scene or a lyric. I have been finding that after working out I tend to start editing.

What does your typical day look like?

I definitely need to brush my teeth first, no matter what. I have a 9-5 and work at a hospital as an admin; going on 19 years. After work, I pick up my son, bring him home, walk my dog, workout, make my son dinner, play basketball inside with for a bit, then take him back to his mom’s. I typically hit the streets to photograph every other weekend.
