What is the most recent item that you've added to your workspace?
The most recent items I've added to the desk setup are the two posters above the desk. The one to the left is from Vitsoe, highlighting Dieter Rams's 10 principles of good design. The other one is an artwork of the Inter typeface, designed by Rasmus Andersson.
What is one change you'd like to make to your current workspace?
Honestly, not much. I've built this setup over many years, and right now it's at a spot that I like. It's a place where I can be creative, productive, or just rest. I really like it. If I had to make one change, however, it would probably be to get a better office chair.
How do you spark creativity?
For me, creativity is not really something I spark. It comes to me in waves, usually just by living my life like I always do. Ideas often hit me when I'm out and about, and not in front of a screen. When it hits, my setup is a great place to realize my ideas.
What does your typical day look like?
Well, it depends a little. When I go to the office, I step up way too early, at around 06:30, to take the train to Stockholm. However, when I work from home, I step up a little bit later, grab a nice breakfast with a coffee, and then head over to my workspace. I try to start my day with some journaling about what I'm going to do today. I'm currently trying out Org mode for this in Neovim. Around lunch, I'm usually pretty bored of staying at home, so I take my laptop and go down to a café for some lunch and an afternoon work session. After work, I do some more journaling to tick off what I've done today, and then I head home for some dinner with my partner before we head to the climbing gym.
What do you enjoy most about WFH life?
As I get older, I've started to appreciate the slower pace of life. Working from home really enables this. I don't have to rush to the train and then to the tube, and then spend the day being social. I like this sometimes, so that's why I have a hybrid work-life setup. Working from home also makes working on side projects before and after work a little bit easier.
