What is the most useful item in your workspace?
Probably my Balolo Setup Cockpit, it just helps to keep my desk feeling super clean and uncluttered, which absolutely helps improve my productivity.
How many breaks do you typically take throughout the day?
I try to start my day with a short walk/hike, which is my first way to clear my head and get away from my screen. I usually then take a break for lunch, and typically stop work around 5pm. After that I might watch some TV for a bit before working on side projects, teaching, or making some food!
How do you manage work-life balance?
I like to get out of my space often, either to go on walks, go work from a coffee shop or co-working space, and just making sure I get quality time away from my screens (I need to be better about that!)
What is the hardest thing about creating educational content?
Probably coming up with ideas that seem interesting and valuable enough to make content about. I often think a reel is going to tank and it becomes one of my most viewed, or I think something is a really cool idea and then it doesn’t do all that well.
But the absolute hardest part is not letting all the negative comments get to my head. A lot of people like to feel smart or superior by putting down others, and although I do my best sometimes it gets to me.
