What is the most recent item that you've added to your workspace?
The Bose QuietComfort wireless headphones.
I originally bought them for a flight to Australia (from the East coast of the U.S.) and was SO glad to have them on the noisy plane. But I completely underestimated how much I'd enjoy using them in my daily workspace routine.*
Now I pair them with endel.io to play personalized focus soundscapes while I work. The combination of active noise-cancelling technology and scientifically-designed audio creates an incredibly immersive experience. I've found it much easier to get into "the zone" within a few minutes rather than the 20+ minutes it used to take me without them.
Pro tip: If you struggle with focus like I did, try the "Deep Work" soundscape on Endel with noise-cancelling headphones—it's like putting blinders on your ears!
What is one change you'd like to make to your current workspace?
I'd like to add another Key Light to balance the lighting on both sides of my desk, which would eliminate the subtle shadows that appear during afternoon calls.
Then I want to mount my Elgato Prompter with Sony camera in the center above my Studio Display. This positioning would create a more natural eye-contact experience for people on calls with me, as I'd be looking directly at them instead of slightly off-camera.
Eventually, I'd like to switch from the Mac mini to a MacBook Pro in clamshell mode for personal creative work. This would maintain my clean desk setup while giving me the flexibility to grab my computer and work from anywhere—something I miss with my current desktop-only setup.
How do you spark creativity?
I'm a dedicated daydreamer, especially while away from my workspace. I've found that my best ideas rarely come when I'm staring at a screen.
Instead, I intentionally let my mind wander and give it space to explore ideas, hash out problems, or plan what I want to focus on next.
Going for a walk outside is my favorite way to spark creativity and get lost in a productive daydream. There's something about the combination of physical movement, fresh air, and changing scenery that unlocks connections my brain doesn't make when I'm sitting at my desk.
What does your typical day look like?
My day follows a flexible rhythm rather than a rigid schedule. Morning hours are dedicated to creative work—designing training materials, writing marketing assets, and designing visuals when my brain is freshest. I reserve afternoons for more interactive tasks like joining team calls, conducting client outreach, and providing value to connections in my social network.
I intentionally batch similar activities together (like scheduling all calls on Tuesdays and Thursdays) to minimize context-switching and maintain deeper focus during my writing blocks.
This approach has dramatically improved both my productivity and the quality of my work.
What do you enjoy most about WFH life?
The quiet space to focus has been transformative for my work.
As a self-proclaimed introvert, I appreciate having the freedom to work at home and escape the commotion of a buzzing office.
I've designed my home workspace specifically to maintain this peaceful atmosphere—from the noise-cancelling headphones to the dedicated room with a door I can close when needed. This controlled environment has been the single biggest factor in improving my productivity since going remote five years ago.
